MARINARENA SOCIAL CHANNELS
MAR= "sea" + ARENA= "sand" in Spanish
Well gladly, you have arrived here and to me. May Marinarena provide a comfy
and healthy distraction in your day and ideas for your next trip -- coastal, other
water-related or land based. Marinarena represents my happy place- a vast one
of wellness, where there is a resounding hush. It's at the tranquil beach, walking
along the shore and at the marina, strolling on the deck.
So, chill out-- get a smooth, relaxing beverage (perhaps an adulterated
rum cocktail or good ol' green tea), kick up your feet and get carried away
in this vast space. Indeed, you will get a lot of curated coastal travel tidbits here
to help you plan for a beach holiday, a cruise or other vacay that is water-activity
central- but there's so much to explore in Marinarena.
Origins be told, Marinarena online was originally a personal blog page with
various musings on my life in southern California. Some early blog entries
and webpage sections from the '00s were merely poems of a random nature,
everyday observances and posts from local getaways. My online presence
became more focused on sharing localized southern California travel
advice on Virtualtourist.com (now sadly defunct). Now, after two decades
in the 21st century, Marinarena.com is...
where I leave my digital footprints on the sea and land plus an exploration of
journey & wellness, as well as original writing from the author, Marinarena.
Keep calm and click on travel goings on & commentary plus my latest poems,
product recommendations, photography and merch!

22 PERSONAL TIDBITS, THOUGHTS & ODDITIES
1 I can whistle.
2 I have flat feet.
3 Go-to comfort foods: pizza of any kind
and Del Taco crinkle cut fries
4 Thankfully, I survived hanging on by a thread
a spooked young horse that took off swiftly and hard
on a beach in Rosarito, Mexico.
5 My abbreviated travel bucketlist destinations:
North Italy , Tahiti, Seychelles, Montreal,
New York state (amazingly still haven't been there yet!)
Switzerland, Brazil, French riviera and New Orleans
6 Proudly a member of Raider Nation.
7 Life goal: conversing at least 101 level in all main
Romance languages. Spanish, Italian and French
studied so far. Portuguese is the main one left.
8 I love the rain. The smell of it and all. God's happy tears.
9 Partisan politics is the worst.
10 I don't get Reddit. Want to but don't. Same with Twitch.
11 I prefer Android. I do like my IPAD but will never be
an "Apple person".
12 I haven't kissed a girl.
13 I never smoked and am probably allergic to pot.
It's enough to get second-hand whiffs of it at concerts.
14 Fave southern California beach: Laguna Beach
and fave Socal beachtown: Seal Beach
15 I'm more than decent playing Jeopardy-
usually get 20 questions right per episode.
16 I loved The Golden Girls before the show became cool.
17 Best desserts ever: my mom's Not your Mama's Banana
Pudding, French vanilla or banana ice cream, cheesecake,
Patti Labelle's or any fruit pie, Mexican style bread pudding
18 The most overrated tourist place. Yes, I concur: Eiffel Tower.
19 Make-up must-have in my zipper bag : Physician's Formula Eyeliner
20 I am that one who has to do a smiley emoji with a nose, almost
always like this ... ;-)
21 I am thankfully not obsessed about any internet or Hollywood star
and don't call anyone an idol. Be your own idol, I say.
22 In the event of the zombie apocalypse, I ... wait... I don't believe
in such silly things ;-). I can't stand zombie talk- except maybe for
White Zombie songs ;-)
